The Central Park Pavilion overlooks a man-made lake. The lake was filled in 1961 and I assume the pavilion was built at the same time. [map]

Compton City Hall & Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
Compton, CA
Compton City Hall was designed by Harold L. Williams and built in 1976. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial was built in 1978, next to City Hall. The Memorial was originally designed as a fountain with a spout of water shooting through the ring at the top. [map]
