The Sacramento Zoo entrance features three parabolic roofed structures. It was built in 1961. Around 2019, the buildings were painted and supports were added to the building on the left. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

former MacFarlane's Candies

2014:
The MacFarlane's Candies building was built in 1964. The building was designed by Walter Landor & Associates. The design was first used for the MacFarlane's store in San Francisco. That building is gone now. In 2008, the building housed the Hot Java Cafe. Since 2009, the Mahoroba Bakery has been the building's occupant. [map]

Macy's

This Macy's store in Sacramento was built in 1963. It has always been a Macy's. [map]

Bode & Bode Lock & Safe

The Bode & Bode Lock & Safe building was built in 1960. [map]

South Hills Shopping Center
Sacramento, CA
The South Hills Shopping Center was designed by William Koblik and built in 1960. The post office building shown at the lower right originally housed a Safeway. The building has housed the post office since 1970. The building on the right in the top photo was designed by Sooky Lee and built in 1968 as a Jumbo Market. It later housed a Vic's Market. That business closed around 2016 and the building was still vacant in 2017. [map]

The Southgate Mobile Estates, a mobile home park, was built in 1969. The biggest structure on the property is the Clubhouse which is shown in the bottom row above. [map]
