The San Pedro Ballet School has occupied this building since the late 1990s. The building previously housed Olaf Christianson's Norwegian bakery. It may have been a furniture store originally. It was built in 1935. [map]

This Montgomery Ward was designed by Conrad Martin Ellington and built in 1930. The building now houses an antiques store. [map]

Municipal Ferry Building San Pedro, CA |

The Municipal Ferry Building was built in 1941 as a WPA project. It was a working ferry terminal until 1963, transporting passengers and vehicles to canneries and military bases on Terminal Island. The construction of the Vincent Thomas Bridge eliminated the need for the ferries. The building then served as the headquarters for the Los Angeles Harbor Department. In 1976, the building was restored. It has housed the Los Angeles Maritime Museum since 1979. For more, see this website. [map]

This Federal Building and Post Office was designed by Louis A Simon and Neil Mielnick. It was built in 1936. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [map]

San Pedro High School had to be rebuilt after the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. The buildings were designed by Gordon B. Kaufmann and completed in 1936. The walls and floors were built with concrete. For more, see this website. [map]

The Santa Ana City Hall was designed by W. Horace Austin and built in 1935 as a WPA project. The City Hall moved in 1973 and this building is used as office space. [map]

The Orange County Title Company was designed by Allen Ruoff and built from 1930-1931. In 1967, the facade was covered up with metal siding by First American. In 2020, during redevelopment of the rest of the block, the original facade was revealed. The facade was integrated into the new building for the Rafferty Apartments. For more, see this website.
