The Parker Hotel was built as the Holiday Inn in 1959. It was the first Holiday Inn in California. Gene Autry bought the hotel in 1961 and began expanding it. It was known then as the Melody Ranch. It was later known as the Gene Autry Hotel. In 1992, it became the Givenchy Spa. It has been the Parker Hotel since around 2004. I'm not sure when this concrete block screen wall at the hotel's entrance was built. It appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s. [map]
