Bo-Mac's Drive In
Shoals, IN
Masonic
Lodge [gone?]
Shoals, IN
Bo-Mac's Drive In opened in 1960. This sign appears to have been recently refurbished. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

This Masonic Lodge sign is probably from the 1950s. I've not seen one with this design before. The sign was not there in 2022 or 2023. It may be gone now. [map]

Steer Inn
Silver Lake, IN
EAT
South Bend, IN
Green Star Cafe
South Bend, IN
The Steer Inn opened in 1956 and this sign appears to be from then. I believe it closed in the 1980s. The steer head at the top of the sign was painted over for the Heartland Cafe. The building is no longer used as a restaurant. [map]

The EAT sign is installed at the Kitchenette Restaurant which had opened by 1953. The sign was probably installed around then. [map]

The Green Star Cafe had opened by 1938 and this sign appears to be from around then. I assume it was a restaurant originally but has been a bar for many years. [map]

South Bend Motel
South Bend, IN
Mobilgas
South Bend, IN
The South Bend Motel sign is probably from the 1950s or 1960s. For more, see this website. [map]

This Mobilgas Pegasus sign is installed at the former Tony's Mobil Service. The pumps were removed by 2023 and the business is now operating as Tony's Towing & Service. This appears to be a vintage sign not a reproduction. It fell during a storm in 2001 but was rebuilt and reinstalled. For more, see this website. [map]

Victory Bar [gone]
South Bend, IN
Hickory Inn
Budget Motel [gone]
South Bend, IN
The Victory Bar signs were probably from the 1950s. They were gone by 2017.

The Hickory Inn Budget Motel sign might have had more neon at one time. The plastic name box may indicate that it was originally named something else. This photo is from 2006. By 2011, the name had been changed to Relax Inn and the bottom parts of the arrows had been removed. By 2025, the sign was gone. For more, see this website.

Studebaker National Museum
South Bend, IN
These signs inside the Studebaker National Museum came from various dealerships.

Hope Rescue Mission [gone]

Vaal's Furniture & Appliances
St. Meinrad, IN
Vaal's Furniture & Appliances had opened by 1952 and this sign is probably from around then. [map]

Wawasee Bowl

Fischer's Furniture & Appliances

Fischer's Furniture & Appliances was established in 1945. This building and signs are probably from the 1950s. [map]
