The King Storage sign originally advertised for the King Lumber Co. It is probably from the 1950s. King Lumber closed in 1986. The sign was adapted in 1992 for King Storage. [map]

Gateway Liquor has been there since at least 1951. This sign is probably from then. [map]

The King's Court Motel was affiliated with the Best Western motel chain from the beginning. The crown with bulbs on top of the sign was mass-produced for Best Western. This sign is probably from the 1950s. It was originally red and navy with a gold crown. [map]

The Western Motel Cabins were built in 1949 and this sign may be from then. The sign originally red "MOTEL" instead of "CABINS." The place is now called simply the Western Cabins and is used for apartments. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

The Ute Chief Trading Post curio shop was built in 1934 by the Ute Chief Mineral Water Company. The store closed many years ago and has been replaced with other business. This sign remains as of 2016. For more, see this website. [map]

Silver Saddle Motel was built in 1950 and this sign is probably from then. The lower half was reworked at some point to accommodate message boards. There were two poles on the right which supported an arrow originally. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

The Royal Tavern sign is probably from the 1950s or earlier. It was refurbished sometime after 2008. The sign was a brownish red before that. This photo is from 2012. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

The Alpine Motel was built in 1941 as the Walk's Motel. It became the Alpine in 1953 and the name on the sign was changed. In 2007, this motel became a Comfort Inn. The rooms were rebuilt and the sign was removed. For more, see this website.

The Park Row Lodge was built between 1948 and 1954. The top part of the sign originally read "The" and had a AAA logo. The outer edge of the sign read "Telephones". For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

La Fon Motel

The La Fon Motel opened in 1939 as the Landis Terrace Court. It became the La Fon Motel in 1955. The sign was originally red and white. Sometime between 2008 and 2010, the neon was removed from the sign. The letters are now backlit plastic. Sometime after 2018, it became the La Fun Motel. By 2023, the motel had been demolished but the sign remains. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

The Mel-Haven Lodge opened as the Kentucky Lodge in 1929. It became the Mel-Haven Lodge in 1951. This sign appears to be from then. The yellow sign panels were previously blue. By 2018, the panels were painted red. For more, see this website. [map]

I believe Gunbarrel TV opened in 1974. This sign must have advertised for a previous radio & television store. It appeared to be from the 1950s or earlier. The wire screens on both sides of the sign were an early method of protecting the neon tubing. This photo is from 2012. By 2018, the sign was gone.

This Studebaker dealership sign is located behind a barn on a farm. These signs have been reproduced but this one appears to be an original. It originally had neon. [map]

The Columbine Liquors sign might be from the 1950s or 1960s. It was restored in 2020 by Bud's Signs. There might have been a different business name when the sign was first installed. [map]

The D.C. Hawkins Insurance Agency sign is probably from the 1950s or 1960s. [map]

This ice cream sign at the Hunger Shack previously advertised for an ice cream stand. The Hunger Shack continues to sell ice cream. The sign might be from the 1950s or 1960s. [map]

The B.P.O.E., Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, sign was refurbished at some point and the neon removed. It is probably from the late 1940s or 1950s. [map]

This Masonic Hall sign features backlit stained glass inserts. It may be from the 1940s or 1950s. [map]

The Curve Motel sign was originally painted green and had a AAA logo at the top. It is probably from the 1950s. [map]

The High's Liquor sign is probably from the 1950s. It originally advertised for the Mountain Motel and had a snowy, mountain scene on top. It was later adapted for Wayne's Liquor. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

Benson's Tavern & Beer Garden opened in 2003. Before that, the building housed a Mexican restaurant. This sign was not there now. If the sign is vintage, it came from somewhere else and was adapted for Benson's. [map]

This Elks Lodge sign appears to have been recently refurbished. It is probably from the 1950s or earlier. This is the smallest neon Elks Lodge sign that I have seen. [map]
