Bohemian Cafe
Omaha, NE
The Bohemian Cafe opened in 1924 as the Louis Macala Cafe. It was renamed the Bohemian Cafe in 1935. The restaurant closed in 2016. By 2018, the building was still vacant and the signs on the building were gone. The sign at the parking lot (third photo above) across the street was restored by the Omaha Neon Sign Company, funded by the local Dundee Bank, and reinstalled. The text panel that was part of the pole sign over the entrance is now displayed inside the Infusion Little Bohemia Beer Hall which now occupies the space. The location of the larger sign letters and plastic panels is not known. For more, see this website. [map]

Bronco Burgers
Omaha, NE
Bronco Burgers opened its first location in Omaha in 1959. This location opened in 1962. Its sign and building are still pretty much intact. The sign is still lit and the cowboy's lasso is animated. It was repainted in 2021. The first four locations had this same sign design. However, there is only one other location left and it has a modern plastic sign. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3. [map]

Scotty's Drive-in
Scottsbluff, NE
This Scotty's Drive-in opened in 1963 and was originally part of a chain. By 1966, there were seven locations in at least six states. The chain disbanded in 1968 and the surviving locations began operating independently. For more, see this website. [map]

The other three surviving locations are in Aberdeen, SD; Idaho Falls, ID; and Bismarck, ND. There were other locations in Mitchell, SD; Sioux City, IA; Glendive, MT; Helena, MT, and possibly others. If you know of any others, I'd love to hear about them.
