Scotty's Drive-in
Aberdeen, SD
Scotty's Drive-in opened in 1962. It was originally part of a chain with other locations in Mitchell, SD [gone]; Glendive, MT [gone]; Bismarck, ND; Idaho Falls, ID; and Scottsbluff, NE. There was another location in Helena, MT which is gone now. If there are or were others, I'd love to know about them. In 2009, this place became Daddy's Bar & Grill and the sign was adapted. In 2015, the name and sign were changed back to Scotty's. The letters on the sign are now backlit plastic. The broken UFO-like feature above the sign was repaired. [map]

Willert's Tastee Treet
Yankton, SD
Willert's Tastee Treet opened in 1950 as part of a Tastee Treet franchise. In 2019, the Kip's Inn Neo-Lectra sign was installed on top of the pole sign. For more, see this website. [map]

Burger Time
Sioux Falls, SD
B&G Milky Way
Sioux Falls, SD
Burger Time was founded in 1987 with the first location in Fargo, ND. There are eight location now in Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota. I don't believe any of the other locations have a peaked roof like this which makes me wonder if this building wasn't adapted from another chain restaurant. [map]

The B&G Milky Way opened around 1954. The building originally housed another drive-in known as Ray's Diner. There are now four other B&G Milkyway locations in the Sioux Falls area. For more, see this website. [map]
