Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round
Los Angeles, CA
The Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round was built by the Spillman Engineering Company in 1926. It originally operated in San Diego, CA. In 1937, it was installed here in this carousel house. There are 68 jumping horses and two chariots. The horses still have their original paint. There is also a fully-functional Stinson 165 Military Band Organ. For more, see this website.

Solar Living Institute
Hopland, CA
The Solar Living Institute features the world's only solar-powered carousel. This is a contemporary Dentzel Carousel built by William H. Dentzel III. There are 10 figures on a flying horse style frame. It was built and installed in 2005. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
