Seaport Village Carousel
San Diego, CA
This is actually the second Looff carousel at Seaport Village. The Broadway Flying Horse Carrousel was here from 1976 until it was auctioned off in 2004. This carousel replaced it in the same year. It was originally installed in Dallas, TX in 1905 and moved many times over the years. It went to California, Washington, Oregon and then back to California again. It was installed in the Burbank Media City Center mall from 1997-2004. After that, it was moved here. There are 54 figures and two chariots. Included are a dragon, a teddy bear, a lion, a mule, an elephant, a goat, a dog, three camels, three giraffes and, of course, horses. For more, see this website.
