Kaden Tower
Louisville, KY
The Kaden Tower was built in 1965. It was designed by William Wesley Peters and Taliesin Architects, based on a Frank Lloyd Wright Indian hotel design from the 1940s. The building was originally built for the Lincoln Income Life Insurance Company. It was renamed the Kaden Tower in 1986 when new tenants moved in. Local residents call it "The Doily Building" and other not-so-nice names. In 1998, Ruth's Chris Steak House replaced the original Terrace Restaurant on the top floor. A gold elevator is placed on the side of the building. The adjoining smaller building (three bottom photos) has always been a bank. It is presently occupied by Citizens Union Bank.
