Capstone Cathedral
Phoenix, AZ
Capstone Cathedral was built in 1973 for Neal Frisby, a Pentecostal preacher, who believed he was a prophet. He built this pyramid-shaped church as dictated by God. It seats 4,000 people. The plastic pyramid on top of the building was originally solid. Some of the panels had fallen off or been removed after 2011. These photos are from 2017. The building has gone by other names in recent years including the Capstone Auditorium, the Capstone Center, and the home to Trendsetters Church International. I believe the building has been vacant since at least 2015. For more, see this website. [map]
