2023:
This former station, also known as the Tower Service Station, was built around 1932. It was independently operated but sold Texaco gas. The building is now used for office space. In 2022, it was repainted orange and red. [map]

former Phillips 66 station
Sterling, KS
This former Phillips 66 station was built around 1933. In 1954, the building began housing J&B Dairyland, now TNT Dairyland. For more, see this website. [map]

former station
Hutchinson, KS
This former station was built around 1935. I assume that it was also built as a Phillips 66 like the one in Sterling above which has an identical design. The building was in bad shape and nearly covered with vegetation in 2012. It had been restored by 2018 for a used car lot. These photos are from 2023. [map]

former station
Atchison, KS

2010:

2023:
This former station was built in 1930 and has an iceberg-like exterior. Does anyone know the history of this building? It housed A Touch of Class Styling Salon in 2010. The building was vacant in 2016. By 2021, the building was painted dark gray. It now houses the Sapphire Spider tattoo studio. [2010 photo thanks Steve Leek] [map]

former station
Eureka, KS
This former station was built in 1939 as the Westside Service Station. In addition to the office and service bay, the building also housed a cafe. It was in conjunction with a motel. The building is faced with limestone, also known as Ozark giraffe stone. In the early 1940s, it was operating as a K-T (Kansas-Texas) Oil Corp. station. In 1960, it was a Fina station. It stopped serving gas in the early 2000s. The building was restored in 2011 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It now houses Benny's Westside Bar & Grill. For more, see this website. [map]

former Independent Oil station
Topeka, KS
This former Independent Oil station may have been built in 1920. The building appears to be vacant now. [map]

former Independent Oil station
Baxter Springs, KS
This former Independent Oil station was built in 1930 and was managed by Frank Phillips. It was purchased by Phillips 66 and rebranded later that year. The original cottage portion of the building on the left was expanded into an L-shaped plan in the 1940s. The station stopped selling gas in the 1970s. In 2006, the building was restored and it is now used as a visitors' center. The reproduction pumps were added by 2013. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Other examples of this style station exist in Columbia, MO and Okmulgee, OK. For more, see this website. [map]

former station
Chetopa, KS
This former station was built in 1931. It possibly operated as a Sinclair at some point. The building likely housed a restaurant originally. The building is currently vacant. There are four former tourist cottages behind the building. [map]
