Peppi's Diner
Pittsburgh, PA
Peppi's Diner is a rare National diner from 1947. It was previously known as the Downtown Diner, Scotty's Diner, and Charlie's Diner. It is now part of the Peppi's Old Tyme Sandwich Shop chain which has about five locations in Pittsburgh. For more, see this website. [map]

Ritter's Diner
Pittsburgh, PA (now Irwin, PA)
The Ritter's Diner was built in 1951 by DeRaffele. It was moved to Station Square in the early 1980s. After being gutted, it housed the Photoscape photography studio for many years. These photos are from 2012. The diner was vacant for a few years. In 2017, the diner was moved to Irwin, PA where it was restored and is now used for concessions and a reception area for the Lamp Theatre. For more, see this website. [map]

New V.I.P. Diner
2009:
The New V.I.P. Diner is a DeRaffele from 1962. It was originally Dempsey's Diner and later the Royal Diner. In 2009, the High Street Diner reopened as the New V.I.P. Diner. An addition has been added to the roof since these photos. In 2015, the diner was renamed the Potts & Penn Diner. By 2021, it was named Three Cousins Diner. [map]

Garfield Diner
Pottsville, PA
The Garfield Diner is a 1954 Kullman. It opened here originally as the Pottsville Diner. Since 2014, the diner has housed the Tex-Mex Diner. The Garfield Diner sign is still there but has been painted red. In 2023, the diner was closed. With no interested buyers, the city is probably going to demolish it. Reading, PA
The 9th & Marion Diner is a Silk City from around 1958. This photo is from 2009. By 2011, the diner was known as the Taqueria Durango. By 2017, the diner was housing the Durango Food Market. [map]

Jennie's Diner (now Route 30 Diner)
Ronks, PA
Jennie's Diner is a Silk City from 1959. In 2015, new owners renamed the business the Route 30 Diner. [map]

Glider Diner
Scranton, PA
The Glider Diner is a 1951 Mountain View. This is the diner's original location. There was originally an illustration of a glider plane at the top of the sign. In 2019, a new sign with backlit plastic panels was installed with a depiction of a glider. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, and 3. [map]

Chick's Diner
Scranton, PA
Chick's Diner is a 1951 Mountain View (#289). The previous Chick's Diner opened in 1946 and burned down in 1951. Chick's closed in 2020 and the property is for sale. [map]
