former Publix Supermarket
Tarpon Springs, FL
2007: 2021:
This former Publix Supermarket last housed a pawn shop. The business closed in 2018 and the building is vacant now. Around 2018, the building was painted a bright yellow. Later that same year, it was repainted this seafoam green. This building originally had a centrally located, L-shaped sign with a clock. In fact, I believe all the other locations built during this time period had this (see the Orlando building at the bottom of this page). [first photo thanks Robby Delius] [map]

Lakeland, FL
This former Publix Supermarket was built in 1949 and closed in 1965. The building now houses the Waller Construction and Design Center. [map]

2009: 2020:
This former Publix Supermarket was built in 1956. The building was vacant in 2009. After that, the building was purchased by the County. Since around 2015, it has housed the County Tax Collector's office. For more, see this website. [map]

former Publix Supermarket
Winter Haven, FL
This former Publix Supermarket was built in 1940. The center tower has been lopped off. The building looked a lot more like the one in Lakeland originally. I believe it is now housing a thrift store. The very first Publix opened in Winter Haven in 1930. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

2020:
This former Publix Supermarket was built in 1951 and remained in operation until 1982. This was the first Publix in St. Petersburg. It housed the Manhattan Hairstyling Academy in 2009. By 2011, it was home to a Family Dollar store. [map]

Publix Supermarket
Tampa, FL
This former Publix Supermarket in Haines City was built in 1948. The building has housed Rent King since at least 2011. [map]

This Publix Supermarket in Tampa was built in 1995. It replaced a smaller Publix on the same site which was built in 1954. They gave the new building some Streamline Moderne styling. [map]

former Publix Supermarket
Orlando, FL
This former Publix Supermarket was probably built in the 1940s. It was definitely open by 1954. The sign and clock are original. Colonial Photo & Hobby was established in 1954. In 1958, the store moved to this building and adapted the sign. [map]
