The Club 449'er was located at 449 Railroad St. The bar is long gone but this part of the sign remains. At some point between 2014 and 2018, the neon was removed and the sign was painted yellow. It was adapted for the Cabo Bar. By 2021, the sign was painted black for the Punch Bowl. For more, see this website. [map]

The Centre Motel was previously known as the Knapp Hotel. The name was changed by the early 1950s and these signs were adapted then. The motel is set back from the road, hence, the "That-A-Way" and pointing cowboy. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |

The I.H. Kent Company was established in 1892 as a mercantile operation. The company is still operating as the Kent Supply Company. This sign looks like it might be from the 1920s. [map]
The E. H. Hursh Insurance Agency was established in 1919. This sign appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s. [map] The Lariat Motel was built in 1953 and this sign is from then. The cowboy's arm and lariat are lit in three-part animation. The neon lariat moves backward, forward and then encircles the text part of the sign. The motel was demolished in 2005. At that point, the sign was donated to the Churchill Arts Council. In 2013, the sign was restored by YESCO in Reno, NV. It is now located at the Oats Park Art Center in Fallon. The Sportsman's Club opened in 1955. This sign was installed then. It is about eight feet wide. The trout was never animated but it has been lit continuously since it was built. The fish is lit with green neon while the text is yellow. The painted sign on the front of the building was replaced with rocks sometime after 2011. [map] |
