This Interstate Federal Savings sign is probably from the 1950s. For more, see this website. [map] The Interstate Storage sign might be from the 1920s or 1930s. There was also a very long horizontal sign on the side of the building which was removed around 2023. The company had another location downtown which had a similar vertical sign. The company also used the name Inter-State Moving & Storage. [map] This Thriftway supermarket had been here since the mid-1950s. This photo is from 2010. By 2015, the sign was gone.

Bell Floor Covering opened in 1954 and moved across the street in 1956. It closed in 2020. This sign was built in 1961 and originally had red neon. The "Guten Tag" panel was added in the early 1990s. In 2023, the sign was removed. It will be restored and displayed at the Lumi Museum in Kansas City, MO. The store's family is keeping the "Guten Tag" panel. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. The Crest Motel was built in 1951 and this sign was probably installed then. Around 2012, the remaining bits of neon tubing were removed and the sign was painted. For more, see this website. [map] The Rainbow Cleaners sign was probably from the 1950s. It was gone by 2021. Crown Rug Cleaners sign originally advertised for a Crown Drug store. The business was long gone but these signs remained until around 2018. The sign is now in storage at the Midwest Sign Company (see below).
