This sign next to the Sweetland Furniture Manufacturing building originally advertised for a motel. Does anyone know what the name of it was? By 2017, the middle half of the sign was gone. By 2018, there was nothing left but the wooden structure under the panels. For more, see this website.
This Elks Lodge sign is probably from the 1950s. It most likely had neon originally. [map] |

The Robert E. Lee Hotel was built in 1917. This sign was probably built in the 1920s or 1930s. For more, see this website. [map]
Brownie's Cafe opened in 1946 and this sign is probably from then. For more, see this website. [map] The Del Sol Nite Club sign was probably built in the 1950s. It came from the Del Sol Hotel which has been vacant since 1981. There are still a couple of older signs on the building. The Nite Club sign was restored and displayed in the back patio at the Mineshaft Lounge. The Mineshaft closed in 2017 and this sign is gone. The Eighth Street Drive-In Liquor sign is probably from the 1950s or 1960s. [map] The Tropicana Motel appears to have been built in the 1950s or 1960s. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map] |

The Hacienda Motel was built in 1958 and this sign is probably from then. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]
I believe the Desert Grove Motel was built in 1956. This sign may be from then. The motel is now known as the Desert Grove Inn & Suites. The owners have added a new sign below this older sign rather than replacing it. [map] |
