The Suds

The Suds opened in 1957 as a Dog n Suds. It became The Suds in 1983. It has changed owners and closed a number of times over the years. By 2016, an A&W Great Root Bear had been isntalled next to the canopy. [map]

Jenk's Pizza has an adapted Dog n Suds sign. I don't know if the sign came from somewhere else. If there was a location here, the building and canopy are long gone. Jenk's has been here since 1986. [map]

This Dog n Suds sign was adapted for Family Karate Academy USA by 2015. It was adapted at least a couple of other times before that. The canopy and building were gone by 2007. [map]

This former Dog n Suds was housing the Dog N Mug by 2007. It closed in 2012. In 2015, the place reopened as a used car lot. However, it appears to be vacant now. For more, see this website. [map]

This former Dog n Suds has housed a liquor store since at least 2007. [map]

This former Dog n Suds was built in 1967. The building and canopy are long gone but the sign remains. It has advertised for the Knuckle Up Tattoo Co. since at least 2012. [map]

Paul's Drive-in has occupied a former Dog n Suds since the early 1960s. [map]


Hum-Dinger Drive-in
Kansas City, MO
The Hum-Dinger Drive-in occupies a former Dog n Suds. The canopy has been walled up to create interior space. The sign has been reworked with the dog's head changed to a man's head. The hot dog and root beer mug are now what appears to be fried chicken and French fries. I don't believe the sign is lit at night. [map]

St. Louis, MO
DC Auto Sales was built as a Dog n Suds in 1956. The property has housed a used car lot since at least 2007. [map]

West Plains, MO
The Suds N changed the name and sign a little when it ceased being a Dog n Suds. Suds N closed in 2013. By 2016, a used car dealership occupied the lot. The sign was gone. The original canopy was still there but painted brown. [map]
