This former station was housing a Metro PCS store when these photos were taken in 2011. The five-sided building is located on a triangular lot. The building now houses a mini-mart. [map]

This former station was built in 1935. It was known as Mac's Super Station and later as Crandall's Super Service. It was a Mobil station at one time. There is still a Mobil plastic disc sign on the side of the building. I don't know what brand was sold here originally. The building now houses Randy's Old Towne Service. [map]

former Hi-Speed station
Saginaw, MI
This former Hi-Speed station now houses Gary's Complete Auto Detailing. This style of Hi-Speed station had the company's name spelled out vertically on the tower. The Hickock Oil Company began building these Hi-Speed stations of this design in the 1920s. In the early 1940s, there were 1,800 Hi-Speed stations in Michigan and northern Ohio. There were 350 in Detroit, 225 in Cleveland, and 125 in Toledo. Those that were still operating in 1952 were rebranded to Pure Oil stations. The tower signage was changed to spell out "Pure". Mr. Fix It was the most recent occupant of this former Hi-Speed station in Detroit. The building has been vacant for many years. These photos are from 2009. Around 2016, the building was painted brown. It still appeared to be vacant. By 2018, the building had been demolished.

This former Hi-Speed station in Flint last housed Severance Service & Auto Repair. By 2019, the building was vacant and the tower on the building had been removed. By 2022, the building was covered with siding. [map]
