former station
Collinsville, IL
The former station was built between 1927 and 1930. The adjoining building with service bays was built in the 1930s and has sliding doors that move from side to side. This station became home to Eck Auto Service in 1958. The window canopies, pointed windows on the garage doors, etc. are all original. While many people, including the owner and the National Register of Historic Places, have identified this as a Phillips 66 station, this was not one of that company's designs. It was probably built by a local oil company and may have been a Phillips 66 later on. [map]
