Louisville, KY
The Ohio Theatre opened in 1941 and closed in 1965. It was demolished in the 1970s and is now just a freestanding marquee near the Louisville Palace. A parking garage has been built on the site. For more, see this website. [map]

Russell Theatre
Maysville, KY
The Russell Theatre opened in 1930. The theatre closed in 1983 and was later used as a restaurant and retail space. Restoration work began in 1996. In 2021, it began showing movies and featuring live performances while the restoration continues. For more, see this website. [map]

Washington Opera House
Maysville, KY
The Washington Opera House was built in 1898. It began showing movies in 1910. It closed as a movie theatre in 1963. Since 1968, it has been home to the Maysville Players, a community playhouse. For more, see this website. [map]

Cheri Theatre
Murray, KY
The Cheri Theatre opened in 1967 as the Capri Theatre. The area under the canopy was open originally. It was renamed the Cheri Theatre in 1969 and the sign was adapted. A third screen was added in the early 1980s and it was renamed Cheri Theatres. For more, see this website. [map]

former Empress Theatre
Owensboro, KY
2010: 2026:
The Empress Theatre opened in 1912 with vaudeville. It was renamed the Malco Theatre in 1937 and the Center Theatre in 1949. It closed in 1989. In 1992, it opened as Goldie's Best Little Opryhouse in Kentucky with live music. It closed in 2008. In 2010, it became the TWO (Theatre Workshop of Owensboro) Empress Theatre.
