Nashville, TN
The Imperial House Apartments were designed by Earl Swensson and built in 1963. The building had been vacant since 2006 and was demolished in 2017.

Betty Kirby-Smith House

The Betty Kirby-Smith House, aka The Crash Landing, was designed by James Walter Fitzgibbon and built in 1949. [map]

Spaceship House
Signal Mountain, TN
The Spaceship House was built in 1973 by Curtis W. King. He built the home for his son and considered creating a subdivision of spaceship houses but it was too expensive. The steel and concrete building cost $250,000. It features retractable stairs and acrylic windows. The interior features round rooms, an elevated bathtub, black upholstered doors, mirrors, and gold and black wallpaper. The backside of the spaceship has a balcony. For more, see this website. [map]
