former Admiral Benbow Inn
Jackson, MS
This Admiral Benbow Inn was probably built in the early 1960s. The building now houses the Admiral Retirement Center. There were Admiral Benbow Inns in the South with similar designs in about 18 locations including: Memphis, TN, Chattanooga, TN, Nashville, TN, Pine Bluff, AR, and Louisville, KY. [map]

Sun-n-Sand Motel [gone]
Jackson, MS
The Sun-n-Sand Motel was built in 1960. It closed in 2001 and was boarded up since then. In 2019, the property was sold to the state of Mississippi. In 2020, demolition began. The property will be turned into a parking lot. The sign and canopy will supposedly remain. For more, see this website. [map]

former Travel Inn [gone]
Meridian, MS
The former Travel Inn was designed by Chris Risher, Sr. and built in 1957. The building later housed a Super Inn. It was demolished by 2021. For more, see this website.
