former First Church of God
Bloomington, IN
The First Church of God was built in 1962. Later, the building housed Indiana University's Marching Hundred Hall. I believe the University still owns the building but a new Marching Hundred Hall building has been built. [map]

North Christian Church
Columbus, IN
The North Christian Church was designed by Eero Saarinen and was completed in 1964. The hexagonal building features a spire which is 192 feet tall. In 2024, the cross at the top of the spire was removed and the building was donated to the Bartholomew County Public Library system. There are plans to adapt the space as "The LEX: The Library of Experience." For more, see this website. [map]

St. Peter's Lutheran Church
Columbus, IN
Although this one is really too late to be considered mid-century modern, I'll include it anyway. St. Peter's Lutheran Church was designed by Gunnar Birkerts and built in 1988. The building is made of reinforced concrete and clad in brick and copper. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church
