former Georgia Mental Health Institute [gone]
Atlanta, GA
The Georgia Mental Health Institute was designed by Abraham Thomas Bradbury and built from 1962-1965. It closed in 1997 and was purchased by Emory University in 1998. The building is now part of Emory University's Briarcliff Campus. This building, known as Building A, had been used as a location for film and television productions. I don't believe the University used it for anything else. In 2022, it was announced that the building would soon be demolished. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
