former Gulf station

This former Gulf station was built in 1940. It housed a Sunoco station in the 1990s. It later housed a Chrysler dealership and a dry cleaner. In 2009, it housed Gardenviews, a home and garden store. The building had been vacant since 2010. These photos are from 2011. Since 2012, the building has housed Garage Grill & Fuel Bar. For more, see this website. [map]

This former Gulf station was demolished just weeks after this photo was taken in 2011. The building was originally glazed brick with the porcelain enamel panels added later. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.

This former Gulf station was converted into a Blimpie fast food outlet around 2000. In 2005, the Big Tomato, a sandwich shop, moved in. Since 2008, the building has housed an Edward Jones Investments office. [map]

This former Gulf station houses Krausmann Service. There are separate service bay and office buildings. Krausmann Service still sells gas in addition to performing repairs. [map]

This former Texaco station in Dearborn was built around 1939. It is on display at the Henry Ford Museum. It was originally located in Kingston, MA and was updated with these porcelain panels and signs in 1960. It was donated to the museum in 1987.

This former station housed Sandmann's, a BBQ restaurant, from 2000-2012. This photo is from 2011. By 2015, the building was housing a Little Caesars. [map]

The first former station above may have housed a Texaco. The missing porcelain enamel panels reveal Art Deco like brickwork underneath. By 2015, the building was housing M&N Motors, a used car dealer. It was painted white and the remaining Texaco panels were gone. Around 2018, the building was painted gray. [map]

This former Standard Oil station above had been vacant since at least 2008. This photo is from 2011. In 2016, the building was restored and Jonny B'z Dogs and More moved in. That restaurant closed in 2019 and then operated as Royals. In 2023, it reopened as the Good Truckin' Diner. [map]

This former Standard Oil station housed Kuips Muffler Brake & Tire when these photos were taken in 2012. Later that year, the building was housing Main Street Auto Repair. [map]

This former station previously housed Hafner's Service. These photos are from 2011 when the building was used as a repair garage. The building was vacant in 2014. The building was probably faced with porcelain enamel panels originally. By 2018, the building had been painted white. It still appears to be vacant. For more, see this website. [map]
