There are lots of operating Denny's buildings like those shown below which I have nicknamed the "modern gable" type.

Roswell, NM
This former Denny's housed the Cover-Up Café sometime before this photo was taken in 2008. The building was still vacant in 2012. The sign frame was empty. In 2013, the building was drastically remodeled and now houses a Subway and other businesses. The former Denny's pole sign is gone. [map]

Newbury Park, CA
This Denny's neon sign in San Antonio was probably from the early 1960s. The corrugated panels were replaced around 2019. The building appears to be more recent. I don't know of any other intact vintage Denny's signs in Texas. For more, see this website.

This Denny's neon sign in Newbury Park was one of the few survivors. In 2023, the neon letters were replaced with backlit plastic. The restaurant was built in 1970 as location #366. For more, see this website. [map]

La Mesa, CA
This Denny's building in San Mateo features a design similar to the one in Roswell above. For more, see this website. [map]

This former Denny's in La Mesa has been in use as Bob Stall Chevrolet's used car and business fleet lot office since at least 2007. [map]

Morton Grove, IL		 Haunted Trails
Burbank, IL
The former Denny's in Morton Grove housed Marilyn's Restaurant for many years. This photo is from 2009. The building had been repainted a couple of times since then. It now houses K-Coop, a Korean restaurant. [map]

Haunted Trails mini golf uses this former Denny's building as its office and arcade. [map]

Placerville, CA
This former Denny's in South Bend housed Boom City, a fireworks store, when this photo was taken in 2011. The building now houses Phantom Fireworks. [map]

This former Denny's in Placerville was built in 1970. The building has housed a Mel's restaurant since at least 2003. [map]

Ann Arbor, MI
I believe this Denny's was the last location left that was still operating with this building design. It closed in 2022 and remains vacant. [map]

This Denny's opened in 1973 and closed in 2020. It reopened in 2021 as the Easy Egg. [map]

This former Denny's was built in 1970. It housed Randy's Restaurant since around 1980. The original Denny's interior was intact. It closed in 2020 and was demolished in 2021.
