International Dinosaur Park and Museum of the Americas [gone]
Sun Valley, AZ
The International Dinosaur Park and Museum of the Americas was built in 1999 and featured a six-mile-long drive through a 6,500 acre park. There were about 14 dinosaurs on display and there were plans to add 20 more. Several of the statues were within view of Interstate 40. The T-Rex statue was added to the gift shop interior in 2004. These photos were taken in 2004. After the museum closed in 2007, several of the statues were relocated in Arizona (see below). A few of the statues were moved to Vantage, WA. I don't know what became of the T-Rex.

Dinosaur [gone]
Holbrook, AZ
The first Dinosaur statue shown above is located in a downtown parking lot. It came from the International Dinosaur Park and Museum of the Americas (see above). [map]

The second Dinosaur above is about nine feet tall. The original owners were going to use it in their pool shower but they couldn't find a crane big enough to lift it. The bronze sculpture weighs five tons. It was donated to the city of Holbrook in 2001 and installed in a park downtown. It was gone by 2020. I don't know if it was moved somewhere else.

Mesa, AZ
The Dinosaur statue in Benson has been installed near the McDonald's since at least 2006. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

These two Dinosaurs in Mesa are located at the Arizona Museum of Natural History. The bronze statue depicts a life-sized Dilophosaurus. It was created by Michael Trcic in 2002. The inflatable dinosaur was on the roof of the museum when these photos were taken in 2012. I assume that one was only temporary. [map]
