Phoenix Cleaners

Phoenix Cleaners was established in the 1930s using another name. In 1942, the original building burned to the ground. In 1947, the business moved to its current location and was renamed "Phoenix" since it had symbolically risen from the ashes. This sign was built then. It is lit at night. For more, see this website. The KVOO-TV Broadcast Facility was built in 1954. The building still served as Channel 2's broadcasting center. The call letters were changed to KJRH-TV in 1980. For more, see this website. [map]

The Riverside Studio was designed by Bruce Goff. It was built in 1929 as a music studio and residence. Since 1953, it has housed the Spotlight Theater. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more, see this website. [map]
