Star Chevrolet
Lowell, AZ
I don't know if Star Chevrolet and the Southern Arizona Auto Co. were the same or competing businesses. The Southern Arizona Auto Co. ghost sign is still visible on the building at the left. The Southern Arizona Auto Co. was operating here by at least 1948. It may have been here since the 1910s. Does anyone know more about these buildings or companies? The pumps and signs are recent additions to give the block a vintage look. [map]

Chevrolet dealership
Willcox, AZ
This Chevrolet dealership has been here since at least 1956 when it housed the Valley Auto Company. The dealership also featured Texaco pumps in front of the bays on the left part of the building. The building is now vacant. For more, see this website. [map]

Stewart Motor Co.
Phoenix, AZ

2020:
The Stewart Motor Co. building was constructed in 1947 as a Studebaker dealership. The round part of the building featured a turntable which displayed a revolving car in the front window. The building housed Circles Discs & Tapes (originally Circles Records) from 1972-2010. It has been vacant since the store closed. In 2016, demolition of the back part of the building began. The front part of the building has been preserved and now houses Snooze an A.M. Eatery. The turntable has either been covered up or removed. [map]

Mel Clayton Ford [gone]
Phoenix, AZ
The Mel Clayton Ford dealership was built in 1950 for Read Mullan Ford. Mel Clayton moved here in the 1960s. The building was demolished in 2009 for a new dealership.

Cobre Valley Motors
Globe, AZ
Cobre Valley Motors was built in 1965. I don't know what makes were sold here originally. In 2008, it was a Chevrolet and Cadillac dealer. The dealership closed around 2016. The building was still vacant in 2021. It now houses the U-Haul Company of Eastern Arizona. [map]

Winslow Ford
Winslow, AZ
This dealership previously housed Winslow Ford. The building appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s. The dealership moved to a new location by 2011. This photo was taken in 2012. The building has been dramatically remodeled with the plate glass removed. [map]
