St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church
Washington, DC
St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church looks mid-century to me. It features a modern belltower, huge parabolic stained-glass front window, and a cave-like interior with buttressed arches. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

Ohev Sholom Talmud Torah Congregation
National Synagogue
Washington, DC
Third Church of
Christ Scientist [gone]
Washington, DC
The Ohev Sholom Talmud Torah Congregation National Synagogue was built in 1960. [map]

The Third Church of Christ Scientist was designed by I.M. Pei & Associates and built from 1968-1971. In 2014, the building was demolished. For more, see this website.

St. Matthew's Lutheran Church [gone]
Washington, DC
St. Matthew's Lutheran Church looked like it had been closed for several years when these photos were taken in 2007. It was demolished that same year. For more, see this website.
