This former Gulf station was built in the 1940s. When these photos were taken in 2004, the pumps were gone and it was just a repair shop. By 2013, the building was vacant. The Gulf and "Ron Brown" letters had been removed from the building. [map]

Alex's Gulf station
Plymouth, PA
Alex's Gulf station no longer sells gas but still performs repairs. [map]

Herky's Gulf station
Erie, PA
Herky's Gulf station was still using pumps from the 1970s when these photos were taken in 2010. By 2012, the pumps on the lot had been removed and the station was no longer selling gas. The Gulf pole sign still remained. [map]

former Sinclair station
Tyrone, PA
This former Sinclair station is now Hamer's Garage. The station started out as a Sinclair castle style canopy in the 1920s. The canopy was removed at some point and the building covered with porcelain enamels panels. For more, see this website. [map]

former Esso station
Strasburg, PA
This former Esso station now houses Myers's Service Center. These porcelain enamel steel panels were probably added to an older building. [map]

former Esso station
Irwin, PA
This former Esso station was built in 1949 as Klanchar's Esso. The vintage postcard shown above left shows what the building looked like originally. For many years after this station closed, the building housed Back East, a truck accessories business. The building is now occupied by CSDI, an embroidery and printing company. [map]
