Spring River Park Carousel
Roswell, NM
The Spring River Park Carousel was closed when I was there but they were kind enough to open the doors a bit for these photos. Not the greatest lighting but this will have to do for now. This carousel is a Herschell Spillman from 1927 with an interesting mix of menagerie and kiddie-sized figures from different carvers. There are three roosters, two deer, one pig, one zebra, two dogs, one ostrich, one swan, one tiger, one lion, one rhino, and one cow. In addition, there are two chariots produced by Muller & Dentzel. The carousel was donated to the City in 1971. It was originally located in Wilkes Barre, PA.
