Orpheum Theatre
Okmulgee, OK
The Orpheum Theatre opened in 1920 as the Cook Theatre. The name was changed to the Orpheum about a year later. It is now the Okmulgee Community Theatre and continues to show movies. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

Poncan Theatre
Ponca City, OK
The Poncan Theatre was designed by the Boller Brothers and opened in 1927 with vaudeville and silent films. The theatre closed in 1985 and was restored in the early 1990s. The Poncan is now used for live performances and movies. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

Allred Theatre
Pryor, OK
2011: 2019:
The Allred Theatre was built around 1914. The facade was remodeled in 1935. The theatre was destroyed in 1942 by a tornado and rebuilt. By 2016, the marquee had been replaced with much smaller letters. For more, see this website. [map]

Canadian Theatre
Purcell, OK
2011: 2020:
The Canadian Theatre opened in 1946 and closed in 1974. It housed the T's Antique Mall for many years. In 2015, the building was renovated as the Grand Canadian Theater. It is now used as an event space. For more, see this website. [map]

Sequoyah Theatre

The Sequoyah Theatre opened in 1951 and closed in the 1980s. This photo is from 2012. For more, see this website. [map]

Stovall Theatre

2006: 2021:
The Stovall Theatre opened in 1950. It has been vacant for many years. The building and sign were restored around 2013. The neon tubing was replaced with LED rope. For more, see this website. [map]

Ritz Theatre
Shawnee, OK
The Ritz Theatre building was constructed around 1897 as a dry goods store. In 1913, it was remodeled as the Cozy Theatre. In 1926, it was renamed the Ritz. The theatre closed in 1988. It was donated to the City in 1999 and has been undergoing restoration since then. The theatre is now used as a live performance venue. For more, see this website. [map]

The Hornbeck Theatre was designed by Jack Corgan and built in 1947. In 1973, the balcony was remodeled into a separate theatre named the "Penthouse". The theatre has been closed since 2020. For more, see this website. [map]

The FranRoy Theatre had opened by the 1940s. It has apparently been closed for decades. Does anyone know when it was built or anything about it? The sign was repainted green and white by 2023. For more, see this website. [map]

The Brook Theatre was designed by William Henry Cameron Calderwood and opened in 1945. It was converted into the Brook Restaurant and Bar in the mid-1990s. For more, see this website. [map]

Circle Cinema Theatre
Tulsa, OK
The Circle Cinema Theatre opened in 1928. It was part of the Chilton Building with apartments located upstairs. In 1957, one of the adjoining storefronts was incorporated into the theatre's entrance to create a larger lobby. The theatre and neon sign have been restored in recent years.
