Strand Theatre
Kendallville, IN
The Strand Theatre opened in 1890 as the Spencer Opera House. It featured live entertainment at that point. Soon thereafter, it became the Boyer Opera House. In 1919, it was remodeled as a movie theater. In 1929, it was renamed the Strand Theatre. The marquee dates from the 1960s. In 1980, the theatre was twinned. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. Lafayette Theatre
Lafayette, IN
The Lafayette Theatre opened in 1938 and closed in 1990. It was restored from 2003-2006. The theatre is now used for live performances. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

Long Center for the Performing Arts
Lafayette, IN
The Long Center for the Performing Arts opened in 1921 as the Mars Theatre. It was mainly used for vaudeville and switched to "talkies" in 1929. The theatre was donated to the City in 1977 by the Long family. It was renamed and converted into a performing arts center. In 1999, the Long Center was restored and the sign replaced to simulate the 1921 original. For more, see this website. [map]

Walnut Theatre
Lawrenceburg, IN
The Walnut Theatre opened in 1925. After the town was flooded in 1937, the theatre closed and was renovated. This marquee sign is from 1938. The theatre has been closed since 2009. In 2023, it has been undergoing renovations to convert it into a performing arts center. For more, see this website. [map]

State Theatre
Logansport, IN

Grand Theatre
New Albany, IN
The Ohio Theatre was built in 1938 and closed in 1993. It reopened in 1996 as a twin-screen. It is now used for movies and live events. For more, see this website. [map]

The Grand Theatre opened in 1909. It was replaced with this theatre in 1913 as the New Grand Theater. I believe the remodeling took place in 1950. The theatre closed in 1975 and is now used as a wedding and event venue. For more, see this website. [map]

Castle Theatre

The Castle Theatre opened in 1935. It has been closed since 2018. For more, see this website. [map]

Damm Theatre
Osgood, IN
The Damm Theatre opened in 1922 as the Columbia Theatre. It was soon renamed the Damm Theatre. It closed in 1989 and reopened in 2008 as a movie theatre. For more, see this website. [map]
