Alaska Signs

(hit "refresh" to get the most recent version of this page)

I don't have any photos of signs from Alaska since I haven't been there yet. If you have recommendations, I'd love to add them to my list. If you have photos, I'd love to see them and possibly add them to my website (and give you credit, of course).

4th Ave. Army Navy
Anchorage, AK
Club 25
Anchorage, AK
The 4th Ave. Army Navy store opened in 1947. This sign may be from then. The store is now known as Big Ray's but this sign remains. For more, see this website. [photo thanks Sean Flynn] [map]

Club 25 was established in 1948 as a private club for women. This sign may be from then or the 1950s. Although, it looks like the panels might have been replaced. The building itself was moved in 1985 along with the bar (now open to all) and sign to its current location. For more, see this website. [photo thanks Sean Flynn] [map]
