former dealership
Chinook, MT
This former dealership was built in 1912. It may have originally been used as a livery stable but was soon adapted as a garage for cars. It was known as the Triple A Garage in the 1920s. In 1929, the building began housing Young Brothers Chevrolet. By 1934, the business was also selling Pontiac and Oldsmobile. The dealership also sold gas. From 1939-1977, the Taylor Motor Company operated here. In 1979, the pumps were removed and the business became Tilleman Chevrolet. Sinc the early 1980s, the building has housed Precision Auto Body. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

former Ford dealership
Whitehall, MT
This Ford dealership building may have been built in 1935. In 1977, the building was housing Rice Ford. In 2013, it was housing Wolf's Whitehall Ford. The building was vacant when this photo was taken in 2022. [map]

JC Billion Auto Group [gone]
Bozeman, MT
The JC Billion Auto Group building was designed by Oswald Berg Jr. and built in 1968. It was originally a General Motors dealership. This photo is from 2008. In 2012, the dealership moved and the property was sold to CVS. The building was demolished later that year. It had been affectionately called the "Spaceship", the "Dead Spider", and the "Standing Rib Roast". For more, see this website.

former Jones Motor Company
Lewistown, MT
The Jones Motor Company building was designed by Cushing & Terrell and built in 1949. In the mid-1950s, it became Cooley Chevrolet. The dealership building was probably remodeled to its current look then. The building now houses Courtesy Motors. [map]
