former Perry L. Black Oldsmobile Cadillac
Leavenworth, KS
The Perry L. Black Oldsmobile Cadillac dealership building was built in 1940. The original sign is supposedly underneath the Herken's rooftop sign. The building now houses Flatland Vapes Leavenworth. For more, see this website. [map]

Lewis Chevrolet
Liberal, KS
Lewis Chevrolet is part of the Lewis Automotive Group which was established in 1977 and has four other Kansas locations. This building was still housing Stu Emmert Chevrolet-Buick-Cadillac in 2012. Lewis has been there since at least 2019. Emmert was established in 1972 and they likely occupied this same building then. The dealership was previously known as Hood Chevrolet Buick. I believe this is an older building that received a mid-century, Southwest makeover at some point. [map]

A.B. Hunt's Garage
Liberal, KS
A.B. Hunt's Garage was a Ford dealership and service garage. It was established by 1917 and this building may be from then. The building now houses Southwest Glass & Door. For more, see this website. [map]

Young Motor Co.
Lyons, KS
The Young Motor Co. dealership was built in 1950. [map]

Kurtz Buick Garage

2024:
This former dealership was used as a Pontiac dealership, either originally or at some point later. The building has been used for storage for many years. It was repainted by 2021. [map]

Waller Motor Co.
Stockton, KS
The Waller Motor Co. evidently sold Chevrolets and Oldsmobiles at one time. The building also served as a gas station and garage. The "Keeton" inscription on the building might indicate the original business name. The building currently houses Stockton Monument. [map]

former dealership
Topeka, KS
This former dealership was built in 1928. It housed W.H. Imes Auto Co., Mosby-Mack Motor Co. (Ford), Jack Frost Motors, and Vic Yarrington Oldsmobile. The building now houses the law offices of Bryan, Lykins, Hejtmanek, & Fincher. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more, see this website. Thompson-Schoonover Motors
Topeka, KS
Thompson-Schoonover Motors was a Lincoln-Mercury dealership housed in this building which was built by 1949. By 2012, the building was housing Autos Inc., a used car dealership. For more, see this website. [map]

Advantedge Quality Cars
Wichita, KS
Advantedge Quality Cars moved into this dealership around 2000. I don't know what make of cars was sold here originally but the building looks 1950s or so. [map]

former Lincoln-Mercury dealership
Wichita, KS
This building originally housed the Dick Price Lincoln-Mercury dealership. It was built in 1948. The building was occupied by Ray Party Rental when this photo was taken in 2010. The building later housed Clutch Rod and Custom and Dent Busters. The building was vacant in 2017. In 2018, it was housing Shift Auto Society. Does anyone know more about this building? [map]

J. Arch Butts Packard
Wichita, KS
The J. Arch Butts Packard dealership was built in 1931. The building later housed Lee J. Hobbs Chevrolet which closed in the early 1960s. Since 2010, the building has housed GLMV Architecture. The new vertical sign on the corner was built in the shape of the original Packard sign. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more, see this website. [map]
