The Windmill de Wijn is 72 feet tall and was built in 1987. The ground floor houses a gift shop. The three upper floors house The Dutch Village Inn. The blades turn and are lit at night. [map]

The Fairway Center windmill is 53 feet tall and was built in 2006. The base of the building houses Woods Coffee. [map]

This mini windmill is now missing its blades.

There is another small windmill in Lynden as well.

The Windmill
Wenatchee, WA
The Windmill restaurant was built in 1931. There have been several additions to the building. The sign is probably from the 1950s or 1960s. [map]

Ellensburg, WA
Max's Bar & Grill housed the building with the rooftop windmill when this photo was taken in 2015. By 2019, the building was housing El Asadero restaurant. Does anyone know the history behind this one? [map]

This small Windmill was built in 1999 by Clarence Montag just before he passed away. It was installed in a park next to the Snake River bridge that same year as a tribute to Montag. [map]

The Ellensburg windmill was originally built as a gas station office. The property also included motel rooms. The building was still in use in the 1970s but has been abandoned since around 1991. Its last uses were as a radiator shop office and an espresso stand. It has been vacant for many years. By 2022, all of the blades were gone. For more, see this website. [map]

The blades on the former Faith Dairy windmill were still turning when this photo was taken in 2015. Later than year, the building began housing the WE Escape Drive-in. By 2017, the windmill was gone.

The Windmill in Cedar Grove was built in 1968 as a tribute to Dutch settlers in the area. It is located in Windmill Park. Although the windmill was never functional, the blades do spin. [map]

Tulipomania European Flower Market
Milwaukee, WI
The Tulipomania European Flower Market has occupied this windmill building since around 1999. It was built in the 1920s or 1930s by A.K. Eierman, a Dutch immigrant. I don't know what the building housed originally but, in recent years, it has been used as a real estate office, law office, and a candy shop. The blades spin and the dome revolves with the wind. The back part of the building is used as a residence. [map]

Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe
Tomahawk, WI
The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe was built as a Sinclair gas station in the mid-1940s. The gas station didn't last long and the building was used as a burger joint. In the 1950s, it was known as Mrs. Magnus's Dutch Mill which sold candy and gifts. The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe opened in the early 1990s. [map]

Windmill Square [gone]
Hayward, WI
I believe the Windmill Square windmill was originally a restaurant. It was later used as a store but, as of 2007, it was vacant. There are other old thatched roof buildings behind it that are used for shops. Does anyone know more about this place? By 2018, the windmill building was gone. For more, see this website.
