former station
Bisbee, AZ
This former station was vacant and boarded up in 2006. When this photo was taken in 2012, the building housed Cochise County Choppers. The building now houses Everhart Insurance. The building is now painted beige and a Texaco pole sign has been added to the lot. [map]

former station
Bisbee, AZ
This former station appears to be a prefabricated steel design. The building is vacant now. [map]

former station
Cave Creek, AZ

2004:

2012:
This former station was built in the 1930s. In the top photos from 2004, it housed Big Daddy Mojo, an espresso bar and soda fountain. Since around 2008, the building has been occupied by Big Earl's Greasy Eats. For more, see this website. [map]

restored Mobil station
Cool Springs, AZ
This restored Mobil station is located on Route 66 and was built around 1926. It burned to the ground in 1966 and remained in ruins until 2001. After three years of rebuilding, the station/gift shop is now open. During the Depression, this station was the last (and very important) stop before crossing the Black Mountains into California. There were cabins lined up east and west of the station. The restaurant, previously adjacent to the station, is being rebuilt and will serve as a local history/motoring museum. [top three photos/info thanks Ned Leuchtner, the owner] [map]

former station
Globe, AZ
This former station looks like it is either vacant or is used as a residence. I did not make note of the address when I took this photo in 2012. Does anyone know where this building is located?

2024:
