2010: 2023:
This Kress was built in 1908. There was a devastating fire in 1909 and the building was immediately rebuilt. The building was restored in 2017 and now houses Thrive Allen County. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For more, see this website. [map]

This Kress opened in 1911, combining two existing buildings. It closed around in the 1950s or 1960s. The building then operated as Raney's drug store until it closed in 1996. The building now houses the Kansas Sampler. [map]

This Neo-Gothic style Kress was built in 1929. It was designed by George E. MacKay. It was built as an experiment to see if elegantly designed buildings would improve sales. The experiment worked.
