Macomb County Building
Mount Clemens, MI
The Macomb County Building, aka the Macomb County Courthouse, was designed by George L. Haas. Construction began in 1931. The building was dedicated in 1933 although only the first five floors were built at that time. The 13-story building was completed in 1944. The sculptures at the top represent military figures. This Munising Fire Department and Department of Public Works building was built around 1939. The construction of a new fire department building began in 2010. [map]

The Streamline Moderne house appears to be from the late 1940s. [map]

Central Fire Station
Muskegon, MI
This Central Fire Station building was built in 1930. The Fire Department moved to a new location in 2007. I believe the building was still vacant when these photos were taken in 2011. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [map]

This storefront in Niles appears to be from the 1930s. Does anyone know what business was here originally? The building was vacant when this photo was taken in 2011. It was still vacant in 2023. [map]

National Time & Signal Corporation

I believe National Time & Signal Corporation moved to this location in 1945. [map]

State Bank of Perry
Perry, MI
WJR Radio Transmitter Building
Riverview, MI
The former State Bank of Perry now houses an orthodontist's office. The building features a limestone facade with incised letters and glass block. [map]

The WJR Radio Transmitter Building was designed by Cyril Edward Schley and built in 1934. The building was still being used as a transmitting facility in 2007. I don't know if it is now. [map]
