7th Street Hotel
Chicago, IL
The 7th Street Hotel was designed by Michaelsen & Rognstad and built in 1930. The neon sign was not there originally. 7th St was renamed Balbo Dr in 1933. The building was later named the Carter Hotel. It is now used for apartments. [map]

Pittsfield Building

former Medinah Athletic Club
Chicago, IL
The Medinah Athletic Club was designed by Walter W. Ahlschlager and built in 1929 as a Shriners men's club. The club went bankrupt in 1934 and the building became the Continental Hotel and Town Club of Chicago. Since 1989, it has housed the Hotel InterContinental. The sculptural elements include Celtic, Mesopotamian, and Assyrian motifs. For more, see this website. [map]

Chicago Heights, IL
Bloom High School was designed by Royer, Danely & Smith and built from 1931-1934. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [map]
