Giant Fish [gone]
Waupaca, WI
This Giant Fish stood in front of the River Bend Sport Shop. These photos are from 2007. By 2008, the store and statue were gone.

Many of the fiberglass fish statues below like the ones in Logansport, Manitowish Waters, Hayward, Chetek, Alexandria, and Defiance were produced by Sculptured Advertising in Sparta, WI in the early 1960s. Some of them might have been created by making molds of the original statues.

Logansport, LA
Giant Fish

Logansport, LA
These two Giant Fish statues appear to be bass, made from the same mold. One is on the east side of town and the other on the west side of town. Logansport has bass fishing tournaments. [east map]; [west map]

Giant Fish
Manitowish Waters, WI
Giant Fish [gone]
Hayward, WI
Giant Fish
Eufaula, AL
This Giant Fish statue in Manitowish Waters might be a smallmouth bass. It is installed next to Swanberg's Bavarian Inn. Does anyone know what type of fish it is meant to represent and/or the statue's history? [map]

This Giant Fish statue in Hayward might have been a largemouth bass. It was installed around the side of the building of Pastika's Bait & Tackle. It appeared to have been used as a fountain at some point. This photo is from 2011. Pastika's was founded in 1921 and closed in 2012. The building was demolished. The signs were saved by the nearby National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. I don't know if they saved this statue as well or if it was destroyed.

This Giant Fish statue in Eufaula represents a largemouth bass. It is 12 feet tall and known as "Manny." The fiberglass statue was installed in 2018. For more, see this website. [map]

This Giant Fish is located at the Rod & Gun Sport Shop. It appears to be a bass. It has been here since at least 2005. The store opened in 1949 so the fish might even date back to the 1960s or 1970s. [map]

I believe this Giant Fish in Ashland represents a largemouth bass. In 2007, this statue was painted green and installed closer to the water of Lake Superior's Chequamegon Bay. It was located next to the Bodin's on the Lake sporting goods store which is now closed. This photo is from 2011 when the statue was installed at Hudbucks Four Seasons Repair. Giant Fish [gone]
Minneapolis, MN
Giant Fish [gone]
Pinewood Springs, CO
This Giant Fish in Minneapolis was located behind Phillips Garden, a landscaping business. It was created by Jeff Millikan and was installed in front of the building for several years. Another artwork replaced it and the fish was moved back into this storage area. When I took these photos in 2007, I was told that the artist would be reclaiming the fish soon. I assume this statue is gone now. For more, see this website.
