Dentzel Carousel
Philadelphia, PA
This Dentzel Carousel is located at the Please Touch Museum. It was built between 1902-1907. There are a mix of Dentzel and Muller figures, as well as some modern reproductions. It was first installed at Woodside Park in Philadelphia. From 1956-1961, it was located in Rockaway, NY. From 1963-1966, it was located in Lambertville, NJ. It was stored at the Smithsonian Institute from 1966-2005. It was then restored and installed here in 2008. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
