The Pope Tire Co. was established in 1919. The company moved to this location in 1941. The neon sign was moved here from the original location. Pope Tire closed in 1998. I believe this building has been vacant since then. The neon sign was gone by 2022. The freestanding letters remain. [map]

Town Tire, a tire store and repair garage, closed around 2006. The business had been there since at least the 1960s. The building was originally a market in the 1930s. Southern Tire Service was founded in Louisville in 1920. This building is from 1958. These photos are from 2010. By 2014, the building had been repainted green. All the signs remained in place. [map]
