Oildale Tire Co.

Firestone [gone]
Berkeley, CA
The Oildale Tire Co. was established in 1961. This photo is from 2012. In 2016, the cover-up panel reading Oildale Tire was covered up again with a panel reading Country Tire & Wheel. [map]

This Firestone store in Berkeley was probably from the 1950s or 1960s. This sign letters were blue and orange instead of red which are very rare. The letters were outlined with red neon. These photos are from 2014. The store moved to a new location and the building was demolished in 2015. For more, see this website.

Firestone Building
Fullerton, CA
This Firestone Building was built in 1929. It was designed by Morgan, Walls and Clements. This building was used as a garage, gas station and other automobile related businesses until 1978. In the 1980s, it was converted into retail space. When these photos were taken in 2013, the building and the Fox Fullerton Theatre directly behind it were undergoing restoration. In 2016, the Firestone Building was housing Dripp Coffee and Stadtgarten. [map]

Firestone
Hayward, CA
This Firestone store was probably built in the 1950s or 1960s. This photo is from 2014. In 2016, the Firestone letters were removed from the roof. The building now houses AAA Auto Repair. [map]

Firestone
La Verne, CA
This Firestone store had become a Sunland Tire location by 2007 but the store still features prominent Firestone signs. I believe the pole sign originally read "La Verne Tire Service." The steel support on the roof seems to indicate that there was a sign installed there as well. [map]
