Monolithic Dome Institute
Italy, TX
The Monolithic Dome Institute produces and promotes the construction of concrete and foam dome-shaped structures. The monolithic dome was invented in 1976. These buildings are believed to be superior in strength and are energy and cost efficient. For more, see these websites: 1, 2, 3, and 4. [map]

Starship Pegasus [gone]
Italy, TX
The Starship Pegasus opened in 2005 and closed in 2007. The building has been vacant since then. These photos are from 2011. It was built by the Monolithic Dome Institute which is just down the road. The Starship Pegasus was an entertainment center for kids with a space-themed restaurant, an arcade, and a mini golf course. There were plans to expand the place into a "College of Space Education". The alien statues that were located here were moved to the Institute. I don't know if they are still there. In 2017, the Starship Pegasus building was demolished. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2.
