La Quinta Inn & Suites
New Haven, CT
former Conty's Drive-in [gone]
Bridgeport, CT
This hotel which is now a La Quinta Inn & Suites was built from 1970-1972 as a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge and Restaurant. The restaurant was located on the ground floor. It later became a Fairfield Inn. It had become a La Quinta by 2007. The hotel is almost next door to the Pirelli Building which has a similar style. For more, see this website. [map]

The Conty's Drive-in building appeared to be from the 1960s. It had been vacant for many years. In 2009, when this photo was taken, it reopened as the Salt & Pepper Restaurant. The building was vacant again since at least 2011. It was demolished around 2019. For more, see this website.

I believe the Grantmoor Motor Lodge was built in 1959. This photo is from 2010. These signs were gone by 2015. For more, see this website. [map]

The Knights of Columbus Museum opened here in 2001. I believe this building housed the New Haven Health Department before that. Does anyone know when this building was constructed and what was here originally? [map]

The Knights of Columbus International Headquarters was designed by Roche, Dinkeloo & Associates and built from 1965-1969. For more, see this website. [map]
